Archive for December 2010
My week on the speed side in Val d’Isere did not yield the ski results I was hoping for but I did get a chance to do some research down another avenue. I call this entry “eating my way through Val d’Isere” because my teammate and roomie, Chelsea, and I spent our off time this past week getting ideas from the French for the bakery we hope to open someday in the future.
It all started with Crepes!

Chocolate and raspberry turned out to be my favorite flavor, although ham and cheese came a close second!
After Crepes we went to the local Chocolatier and pastry shop to check out their selection!
The night before the super g race it dumped a meter of snow causing the race to be cancelled so I couldn’t resist the urge to burn some of the french calories powder skiing!
We ended the week trudging through the newly fallen snow to get my favorite meal……cheese fondue!
I hope everyone has the three “f’s” over the holidays: friends, family and good food! Merry Christmas!

on:I found a bunch of cool skiing pictures from the World Cup races in Aspen on Thanksgiving weekend!
I had the best fan club in the stands!
My family came to cheer me on and we had a big, yummy Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday before the races!
My new ski/boot company, Fischer, took some pictures of me “hanging out” with my new gear! Photo credit: Gepa Pictures
And then we headed to the North American Cup races. Slalom in Loveland and a Giant Slalom win in Aspen!
It was December 1st, time for Christmas cheer! Notice the santa hat, ho ho ho!
