The World Cup Ski Racing season of 2008-2009 has begun with the giant slalom on the 25^th in Soelden, Austria.  The injected glacier set up very well and we had beautiful weather on race day.  The great snow helped the challenging pitch in Soelden be a little less intimidating and although it felt rough on the way down, I had a personal best on the World Cup circuit finishing in 14^th place.  It was exciting to be able to bring my skiing from training this summer in New Zealand and Chile to the race hill.  Along with on snow training, I did a lot of physical conditioning this summer and am ready for the race season to start full swing.  After a good start in Soelden, I am looking forward to our next race in Aspen, Colorado on Thanksgiving weekend and am hoping to see a lot of fans out on the slopes!
