May 2010

As I mentioned at the end of the last blog, summer life in Park City has begun and there have been a few significant changes in my life that I am very excited to share.  Since Dynastar pulled out of the U.S. Ski Team pool and therefore dropped my sponsorship I have been on the search for skis for the 2010-2011 season.  I am happy to announce that, after a thorough testing camp in Mammoth California, I finally found the right company, Fischer.  I will be competing on Fischer skis and boots this upcoming season and think that this change may be a blessing in disguise because, although I had a great time trying all the different companies’ set-ups, I really like the way the Fischer set-up works with my skiing style.

Also, I have moved into a new apartment in Park City with teammate Chelsea Marshall for the summer.  Although it is not very big, it is very cute and has a perfect location between Park City Mountain resort’s bike trails and Main Street.

Lastly, I have started a summer job at a bakery.  Many of you know but my second passion after skiing is baking.  I am hoping this job will allow me to learn a lot about preparing food and also how to run a bakery.  I have thoroughly enjoyed my first few days at my new job and don’t feel that dipping cookies in chocolate and decorating tarts can be called work!

Dryland begins in full force on Monday so everyone send big muscle vibes! 🙂
